Fashion Event Staff Guide
Welcome to the PT Swagg Custom Couture team! We're excited to have you on board. This handbook covers everything you need to know to be successful — please read thoroughly and refer to it as needed.
🚪 FIRST DAY INSTRUCTIONS

Arrive 15 minutes early to check in at the front desk on the main floor.

Bring your ID — it's required to receive your market badge.
-
You’ll need to wear this badge daily. If you're working with more than one designer, one badge typically covers all access.

If another designer requires a different badge, return downstairs, give your name and designer, and request the second one.

If there are any problems, call Management immediately for assistance.
⏰ DAILY CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

Upon arrival, clock in and check in with either Management or your team leader.
-
At the end of your shift, you must clock out with the same.
🚫 If you leave without checking out, you will not be paid for that day.
👗 DRESS CODE BY DESIGNER
Nikki B (Steamers):
-
Casual but neat clothing.
-
❌ No hats, scarves, bonnets, ripped items, crop tops, short shorts, or inappropriate graphics.
Clarissa Designs (Steamers & Dressers):
-
Black shirt + black slacks or dress pants
-
Comfortable shoes
-
✅ Avoid neon/bright colors
ALL STAFF:
-
Hygiene matters — arrive clean, well-groomed, and fresh.
-
Hair must be styled neatly.
-
Simple glam makeup is okay (no bold looks).
-
Nails must be clean. If using long or fake nails, you must be able to work effectively with them.

⏱️ Your team leader or Management will let you know when it’s time for your break.
👥 YOUR ROLE: WHAT YOU DO
👗 DRESSERS
-
Assist models getting into and out of dresses (zippers, corsets, buttons).
-
Keep the dressing room clean and organized.
-
Garments not in use must immediately be returned to the showroom floor.
-
Never leave dresses on the floor.
-
❌ Do not play, socialize, or fraternize with models.
-
✅ You may sit only when everything is in order.
💨 STEAMERS
-
Set up, organize, and steam garments upon arrival.
-
Fill steamers with water as needed.
-
Be gentle with fabrics — if unsure, ask a team lead or Management.
-
Once steamed, hang garments in the correct section of the showroom.
-
Setup guidance comes from the client or lead.

🔧 SETUP TEAM

Prepare and clean showrooms before they open.
-
Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors.
-
Move furniture and set up stages, racks, platforms, and displays.
-
Receive shipments and packages.
-
Hang lights, signage, and equipment.
-
Report issues to your lead or Management.
👕 Dress Code:

Comfortable, clean clothes suitable for manual work.
-
Closed-toe shoes are required.

Excessive phone use

Long conversations or goofing off with models

Eating or drinking near garments
-
Standing around — “If you can lean, you can clean”

Taking photos in the dressing room

Smoking or vaping in or near the showroom

Leaving the floor without permission

Using inappropriate language or discussing mature topics around minors
✅ DO’s

Take and share photos of fully dressed models in the showroom (please ask)

Tag your designer and @ptswaggcustoms

Keep a positive attitude and work ethic

Help teammates when needed — “Teamwork makes the dream work!”

Report any issues directly to Management

Stay on time for shifts and breaks
-
Bring your own snacks and water
-
(Some clients may provide snacks, but not always what you like)

💰 PAYMENT INFO
-
Rate: $17/hour
-
Payment comes after Market ends (within two-three weeks)
-
You’ll be paid either directly by the client (via check) or by direct deposit with PT Swagg Custom Couture
-
Management will send out an update when checks are released.
🚫 DO NOT CONTACT THE CLIENT ABOUT PAY
All pay issues must go through PT Swagg Custom Couture Management.
Violating this will result in removal from future events.
🤒 IF YOU’RE SICK OR RUNNING LATE
You must CALL MANAGEMENT DIRECTLY — no texts or emails.

You must speak to Management in person over the phone

If you feel sick or test positive for COVID, notify us immediately so proper precautions can be taken.

Save this handbook somewhere accessible during your shifts.

All questions and concerns should be addressed during the mandatory training.
